3 Days – The world-biggest folk festival
Arrival in Munich
After arriving in Munich, your chauffeur will welcome you at the airport or train station gate and take you to your hotel. After hotel check-in, we recommend first a visit of the Munich Oktoberfest. The world largest festival is taking place in Munich since 1810 and attracts over 6 million visitors per year. Dating back to the royal wedding of crown prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, and Princess Therese of Saxony, the Oktoberfest is still held at the same place, the so-called Theresienwiese, to which locals refer as the “Wiesn”. For this festival, Munich breweries prepare a special Oktoberfest beer with a higher alcoholic content of approximately 6 to 7 %. The traditional costume worn on the “Wiesn” are leather trousers for the gentlemen and a dirndl for the ladies.
