Munich and fabulous Neuschwanstein

3 Days: Neuschwanstein Palace – Palace Hohenschwangau – Hofbrauhaus

Day 1:
Arrival + City Tour Munich
After arriving in Munich and checking-in your hotel, your guide is awaiting you for a sightseeing tour in the capital of the Free State of Bavaria and third biggest city in Germany. You will see the Marienplatz with the column of St. Mary in the very heart of the city; the new town hall with its famous carillon and its elaborate facade, seat of the mayor and the city council; the old-established and very popular Viktualienmarkt; the medieval city gate Isartor; the Cathedral Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), the landmark of Munich; the grand and expensive commercial street Maximilianstraße; the Residence, former centre of power of the Bavarian dukes, electors and kings; the 3 Pinakothek-museums with outstanding collections; as well as the baroque Nymphenburg Palace, one of the largest royal palaces in Europe. The evening is at your own disposal.

Day 2:
Excursion Neuschwanstein + Hofbrauhaus
After breakfast, you will start on your fabulous excursion to Fuessen. Undoubtedly, today`s highlight will be the visit of the Palace of Neuschwanstein. The “fairytale castle” of Kind Ludwig II was built from 1868 onwards and nowadays belongs to the most popular castles and palaces in Europe with over 1 million visitors per year. Because the king was afraid of people, he built the castle as a retreat from the public. Architecture and décor have been influenced by romantic historism and eclecticism of the 19th century. Straight after the death of King Ludwig II, the castle was opened to the public. Following your visit of the “fairytale castle”, you will see the vis-á-vis palace Hohenschwangau, where King Ludwig II spent his youth. In the year 1832, crown prince Maximilian bought the ruinous palace and had it rebuilt in neo-Gothic style. In the afternoon, return to Munich and spare time to do some shopping or sightseeing on your own account. In the evening you will enjoy a genuine Bavarian menu and typical folklore in the probably most famous tavern of the world, the Hofbrauhaus.

Day 3:

After a rich breakfast, your chauffeur will take you to the airport or train station. You will return home with long lasting memories of the Bavarian capital.
