After arriving in Freiburg, you will check in your booked hotel. We recommend a first stroll through the beautiful Old Town of Freiburg.
Freiburg – Triberg
After breakfast, your tour guide will take you on a sightseeing tour through the most southern town of Germany: You will visit the Freiburg Minster, which was built between 1200 – 1500 and is acknowledged by art historians from all over world as a splendid masterpiece of gothic architecture; the Old Town hall, which was assembled in the 16th century from several old buildings; the new town hall, which is a modification of a semi-detached Renaissance building; the historical Münsterplatz and the enchanting Old Town. In the afternoon, you will set out for an excursion deep into the Black Forest and visit the highest and most famous waterfall in Germany, the Triberg Waterfall. On the outskirts of the town Triberg, the small mountain brook Gutach falls in 7 steps 163m down to the bottom. This foaming and thunderous wonder of nature attracts about 500,000 visitors per year. Then, you will pass by Furtwangen and stop at the Titisee. According to a legend, this lake marks the place of a sunken town. After a short visit, return to Freiburg. The evening is at your disposal for further discoveries.
Freiburg – Strasbourg – Baden-Baden
After a rich breakfast buffet, you will cross the border to drive to the French city Strasbourg, where your guide is awaiting you for a visit of the well-preserved historic town center, which has been declared part of the UNESCO World Heritage in 1988: you will see the monumental cathedral, which was finished in 1439 and is generally regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in Gothic style; the most picturesque district of old Strasbourg “La Petite France”, where fishermen, millers and tanners used to work and live; the famous Maison Kammerzell; as well as the European district with its monumental glass buildings of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament and the European court of Human Rights. After this sightseeing tour, you will head back to Germany to visit the town Baden-Baden: This world-famous spa town is situated in beautiful surroundings on the western rim of the northern Black Forest and has gained a reputation for its Belle Epoque buildings as well as for Germany`s oldest casino, which was described by Marlene Dietrich as “the most beautiful casino in the world”. The rest of the afternoon is at your own disposal, before you return to Freiburg later today.
After breakfast, you will return home with lasting impressions of the beautiful Black Forest.
