Club tour Champagne in Reims

Rotary Club Dueren

During their annual club tour 30 members of the Rotary Club Dueren travelled to the beautiful little city Reims in the midst of the champagne area. On the journey to Reims the group had a stop at the historical battlefield of Verdun, before they reached the picturesque town Reims in the late afternoon. In the evening we have arranged a stylish dinner at the castle “Les Crayeres” incl. champagne tasting.

The next morning the group explored Reims during a guided city tour, followed by a lunch at the fancy restaurant “Le Grand Cerf”, starred with one Michelin-star.
What about a visit of the champagne area without visiting a champagne winery? One of the highlights of the tour surely was the visit of the champagne estate “Vranken Pommery Monopole” incl. guided tour through the champagne cellars including tasting of course.

On the last day of the trip, the second part of the guided tour through Reims was scheduled. It ended at the precious cathedral Saint Remis, which was during centuries place of coronation for the French kings. A further culinary attraction marked the end of the journey: a lunch at the Michelin-starred restaurant Les Berceaux” in Epernay, embedded in the rolling vineyards of Champagne.
